The Wakulla County School Board announces Mr. Joe Rozanski as District Teacher of the Year.
Our cameras were rolling as Superintendent Miller and other school board officials surprised Rozanski this morning in his classroom and announced the honor.
Rozanski - who teaches 6th grade at Wakulla Middle School - is the first man to ever be elected Teacher of the Year for the District.
Rozanski says, "It's an amazing honor and I think all teachers would agree that we have a dedication and passion to help students drive to reach their fullest potential."
Superintendent David Miller also announced today a recent study shows Wakulla County is one of the nine school districts in Florida ranked as a high achieving school district.
According to the study, only three other school districts rank above Wakulla County in the state of Florida.
