Wakulla County, FL -- May 17, 2011 --
A local fire training facility was dedicated to a longtime Wakulla resident and volunteer firefighter who passed away earlier this year.
Tuesday evening, several people were on hand as the new fire training grounds were dedicated to Chief Raymond Love. Love dedicated more than 35 years of dedicated service to Wakulla County. He was president of the Wakulla County Volunteer Firefighters. He also worked for the Tallahassee Fire Department beginning in 1951 and retired in 1985.
Wakulla County Volunteer firefighter Bill Russell says, "He was instrumental in getting this training center built and it's a first class training center, and Wakulla county is very lucky that he was here and I hope that he will always be remembered for what he did."
Chief Love assisted in the finding of the new fire facility and played a key roll in implementing the emergency 911 systems for the county.
