Associated Press Release
TAMPA, Fla. (AP) -- A Tampa woman says she's the victim of a really bad wrong number.
The 60-year-old secretary at Thonotosassa Elementary School says she was recently inundated with text messages from men wanting to meet her.
The Tampa Bay Times (http://bit.ly/17ekQzt) reports that Nancy Caldwell first thought they had the wrong number. But the text messages didn't slow down in late July. So finally she asked where one man got her number. He replied he got it on "Backpage."
Turns out her number was linked to an ad for adult services and escorts.
Caldwell says most of the calls came from the 801 area code in Utah. Caldwell's area code is 813. By Aug. 10, the typo had been fixed. But the calls keep coming. Caldwell now logs them and essentially ignores her phone.
