Lowndes County Sheriff Press Release
On Friday, September 24, 2010 at approximately 09:00 a resident of Georgia Highway 376 in the Clyattville community returned home and noticed a person unknown to her standing on the rear deck of her neighbor’s home. The neighbor is also a relative. Knowing that their relative was at work and that no one should be home, the complainant approached the residence. Upon doing so the male on the back deck and another male, who had been inside the residence, both fled the residence on foot. It was noticed that the residence had been burglarized. The complainant immediately called 9-1-1 and reported what she had seen.
Deputies and investigators from the Sheriff’s Office responded to the area and began efforts to locate the two unknown males. The males were described as a white male with medium length hair and a Hispanic male. Certain items were taken from within the residence but were dropped by the males and recovered by Sheriff’s deputies. An extensive effort to locate the males proved unsuccessful. A crime scene unit from the Sheriff’s Office processed the scene for forensic evidence as this investigation continues.
