[UPDATE] 94-Year-Old Georgia Man Attacked With Rock

[UPDATE] 10-1 3:23PM -- Marietta, Georgia (AP) --

Authorities say a Cobb County 15-year-old accused of beating a 94-year-old man during a robbery will face adult charges.

The prosecutors are moving the case to Cobb County Superior Court. The teen is charged with aggravated assault, aggravated battery and gang charges.

Neighbors told Cobb County police that a group of teens knocked
on Paul Smallwood's door last week and hit him on the head with a
rock, knocking him to the floor. Authorities say the teens fled
after taking Smallwood's wallet with $27 in it and cell phone.

Smallwood suffered severe head injuries in the incident.

An 11-year-old charged in the case will remain in juvenile
court.

A second boy has been arrested in Cobb County in connection with a beating that left a 94-year-old Marietta man with severe head injuries.

Cobb County police say the boys, ages 11 and 15, have been
charged with armed robbery, aggravated battery, aggravated assault,
burglary and violation of the Georgia Gang Act.

Family and neighbors told Cobb County police that a group of
teens knocked on Paul Smallwood's door Friday night and told him he
needed some work done on his car and they knew a good mechanic.

The family says that at some point the teens hit Smallwood on
the head with a rock, knocking him to the floor. Family members say
the teens took Smallwood's wallet and cell phone and fled.

Family members of a 94-year-old Marietta man say he's hospitalized with severe head injuries after he was attacked by two teenagers.

Cobb County police say they're investigating the attack on Paul
Smallwood at his Marietta apartment.

Smallwood's family says the teens showed up at Smallwood's
apartment Friday night (Sept. 24) and told him he needed some work done on his car and that they knew a good mechanic.

The family says that at some point the teens hit Smallwood on
the head with a rock, knocking him to the floor. Family members say
the teens took Smallwood's wallet and cell phone and fled.

Police say they haven't made any arrests in the case.
