This is horrible. This poor man was defenseless against these thugs. All they had to do was push him out of the way. I hope they ALL are charged as adults and sentenced to the longest term allowed by law in prison. Ole Bubba will show them what small little people they are in prison.

I agree. They should be tried as adults and the parents should be held accountable. This is outrageous.

Why shouldn't the parents also be held accountable for what their minor children do? They are legally responsible for them. If they were brought up better they would not be beating up anyone and robbing. I think they need a HARD LIFE LESSON. Miami style. Little wanna be thugs.

They SHOULD be tried as adults, and when found guilty they SHOULD go to an adult PRISON. Let them try beating up on some of their cell mates! They're so bad, they're so tough, give THEM a taste of their own medicine. The frequency of these incidents involving teenagers beating the elderly is increasing, and it is time for the appropriate punishment. No more juvenile mediocre punishments because they are NOT working. You start PUNISHING them by their CRIMES instead of their ages, and maybe they'll think twice before pulling something like this. If not, then when one of these mean, cruel teenagers gets shot & killed trying to do something like this to someone else, don't cry foul, because it will happen. One too many times some teenager is going to attack the WRONG older person & they're going to get shot!!

Their parents absolutely should be held accountable for this as if these kids were raised to respect others it wouldn't have even entered their minds to bash in some old man's head!! With the exception of a very few sociopaths, this is behavior that is learned (or not taught otherwise!) at home. These kids and their parents are responsible. The kids need to be locked up and made to work for restitution to the man until they're at least 18 and then revisit the issue to see if they have learned how to be respectful members of society. The parents need to be fined both monetarily and with community service as well as some kind of counseling because obviously if these are the kinds of kids that they've raised, they need help too!

Steve: The only time "mad-voter" comments on stupid obama is when the article is about stupid obama. On this article, I pray the elderly man will survive this terrible thing. Also, the parents had nothing to do with this.

They should be in jail for several years... if he survives. Parents should be investigated, too. If you want parents to be better at disciplining their children, any violent crime committed by someone age 16 or younger, their parents'/guardian should be considered an accomplice. Watch how much better discipline will get! I can't wait until "mad-voter" comments on this and blames President Obama.
