Armed Robbery in Valdosta

A man accused of holding a local restaurant at gunpoint is arrested.


On September 25, 2010 at approximately 0200 hours, the Valdosta Police Department responded to the Sonic Drive In, 2537 Bemiss Road in reference to an armed robbery. The Valdosta Police Department and the Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office responded to the area. Detectives from the Valdosta Police Department and Crime Scene Laboratory Personnel were called out to investigate. At the time of the report, an unknown amount of money was taken.
As a result of the investigation, on Friday, October 1, 2010, an arrest warrant for Armed Robbery was issued for Furman Neal Walker. Walker was arrested by the Valdosta Police Department Power Squad at his home on Saturday, October 2, 2010, without incident. Walker is being held in the Lowndes County Jail. Further charges against Walker are pending.
