The 4th Annual Kids are People Too Fair drew over 100 children to Drexel Park.
School supplies and books were handed out. Officials also raised awareness to fight homelessness.
"[There are] many kids in the area that don't have access to the things they need for school," says Martel Peterson, a case manager with the South Georgia Partnership to End Homelessness. "We're here to help out with that and therefore in turn help maybe keep up a higher grade point average cause they have the supplies they need."
Officials estimate there are between 300 and 400 homeless people in the Lowndes County area.
