Thomasville, GA -- October 20, 2011
Walter Jordan says he dropped out of school in the seventh grade. He tells us he served in the military for three years and even owned his own business. He says his grandson was the determining factor that pushed him to enroll in South West Georgia Technical College's GED program.
"You learn as long as you live and if they're holding back because they say I can't do it, that's wrong cause they can do it," says Jordan.
Each year the oldest GED graduate in the state of Georgia is honored with the Golden Eagle Award. This year that honor went to Jordan.
Jordan plans to pursue a degree in Computer Technology.
