UPDATE: 09/30, 11:05 a.m. by Gabrielle Sarann--

The man is identified as Rex Allen Brooks and his death is ruled accidental, according to Lowndes County Coroner Bill Watson.

Toxicology reports show he died from mixing several of his prescription pills, including pain meds.

Yesterday morning, a woman walked into the convenience store attached to the Shell gas station in Lake Park and said her husband was unconscious.

Deputies say the woman, whom the cashier recalls as Norma, said she was driving with her husband from Ohio to Florida when she noticed he'd stopped breathing.

But the cashier says it appeared the man had been dead for a long time.

"She came in, really quick. Didn't want us to panic," said Teresa Ward, a cashier at the convenience story, who was working behind the counter when the woman came in seeking help. "Said would we call 9-1-1. She thought her husband overdosed. My friend asked if he was conscious. She said his fingernails were blue."

The identity of the man has not been released.

His body has been transported to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation in Macon for an autopsy.
