Thomas County Central High School's Nancy Rogers is one of ten finalists chosen from a pool of 154 teachers from all over Georgia.
Rogers currently holds the title for the 2010 teacher of the year at Thomas County Central and will find out if she'll be Georgia Teacher of the Year for 2012 in May.
"It was over whelming I'm not accustomed to all this attention that's not why I became a teacher I became a teacher because I love being in the classroom," said Rogers.
If Rogers wins she will travel around the state for a year serving as an ambassador for the teaching profession.
