Medical officials at Archbold Memorial Hospital say the facility has been ranked #1 of all hospitals south of Atlanta for its coronary intervention program, which helps prevent heart attacks in patients who show warning signs.

Doctors and staff say they are proud to be part of the top-notch medical institution.

Dr. Clay Sizemore is an interventional cardiologist at Archbold and says, "We're just very excited about it because we've been passionate ... and we're happy that that passion and enthusiasm has translated into some objective measures that really document how well we're doing."

Archbold was rated 6th out of all Georgia hospitals for its CI program.

Staff say 'Georgia Trend' conducted its ranking objectively by comparing categories such as mortality and recovery rates, and patient satisfaction in all Georgia hospitals, then compiled the results.

Kim, I'm very concerned that Obama's healthcare debacle is going to cut what doctors, hospitals, and their staff will be paid when it hits full stride. I have no idea how much Archbold pays, and I don't wish to sound mean, but if you are dissatisfied with it look elsewhere for employment. You may find there isn't any, or if there is, that the pay is lower than Archbold's. I assure you, with the economy the way it is times are tough all around.

I had a heart attack and the need of Dr. Sizemore's services, and I must say he and his team, as well as the nurses and all the staff I came in contact with at Archbold did a marvelous job. I had an artery 90% blocked, they did a catheterization through my wrist, the first I'd heard of such, put in a stent, restored good blood flow, and told me there was no heart damage, just muscle weakening which should strengthen and return to normal. I recently had my first physical after that procedure, my physician did his usual EKG, looked at it, and said four beautiful words. "Your EKG is normal." I am so very proud of the recognition these dedicated and loving people have received, and I can say from first hand experience, it is WELL deserved. God bless you all and keep up the good work.
