Julio L. Lopez, age 29 that has been the center of a fugitive manhunt has been captured. The arrest location was in Berrien County around 4PM near the ten mile bridge where the fugitive told Berrien county Deputies that he had spent the night. He was found wearing a blue bathmat walking toward Teeterville Highway.
A hearty “great job!!” should be extended to the local law enforcement community and everyone that assisted in Lopez’s capture. This was a great collaborated effort in the relentless pursuit and location this fugitive. Lopez will be housed in the Berrien county jail until further processing and a translator can be brought in to assist with language barriers. Lanier County will hold a bond hearing Friday morning where bond is expected to be denied.

The search is on for a South Georgia man accused of stabbing and beating his wife.
The Lanier County Sheriff's Office says 29-year-old Julio Lopez is wanted for Aggravated Assault in the stabbing of his wife in the
Oakridge Subdivision early Wednesday morning.
Deputies say Lopez could be in the South Georgia or North Florida Area.
Lopez jeep was found near Cross Creek Road in Berrien County Wednesday evening
