Decatur fire officials say they now believe a suspected arsonist caused more fires than originally thought.

Deputies arrested Lisa Ponder for her work as the so-called "Black Jack Arsonist" on November 23, and say she set numerous fires between last spring and this fall in the Black Jack area of Decatur County.

But deputies now say Ponder probably started even more fires that were not identified as arson because residents simply extinguished them.

Fire officials ask anyone who put out a suspicious brush fire in Decatur County recently to report the incident to local law enforcement.
