Valdosta, GA - Winter weather has stressed the area's blood supply. Additional units are required to insure the effective treatment of individuals with medical needs in South Georgia.
In past years, the Valdosta State football program, with the help from you, our loyal fans, has established record donation numbers for the Red Cross. However, due to the extreme shortage in blood supply in South Georgia at this time, the Red Cross has asked us to double our goal this year to 800 units. We need your help and the help of your friends to make this happen. Please contact everyone you know who can help give the gift of life and encourage them to donate to this year's drive.
Due to the increased goal, we are going to hold our annual blood drive this year over a two-day period. The first day will be Tuesday, January 25 from Noon till 8:00 p.m. in the Student Union Ball Room. Our goal is to collect 450 units of blood this day. Meanwhile, the second day will be Thursday, January 27 from 8:00 a.m. till 3:00 p.m. in the Bailey Science Center Atrium, a day in which we strive to collect 350 units.
Please come out and support VSU Football and the Red Cross on one of these two days. Help us to once again show why Valdosta is TitleTown USA.
