A bomb threat empties Brooks County High School, and sheriff's deputies are trying to find out who sent it.
The threat was emailed to Brooks County High School this morning.
The school was evacuated and students were escorted to the middle school down the street.
The Sheriff's Department, Valdosta Police, and Moody Bomb Squad searched the school and ultimately cleared it.
Classes resumed shortly after lunch.
"Nothing has been found at this time, but it is still being investigated. We're trying to find out who sent the email and when we find out, if we find out, they will be prosecuted," said Mike Dewey, Brooks County Sheriff.
If you have any information on who may have sent the bomb threat, call the Brooks County Sheriff's Office at (229) 263-7558.
