The race was on for a dozen of electric car drivers looking to leave their mark in the "Run for the Peaches" Saturday.
The racer to make the most laps around the track in an hour made the history books and a prize suitable for a race in Georgia... peaches.
The organizer, Don Morgan, has been getting the wheels turning for this race for about two years.
Despite little cooperation from mother nature, he says the weather wasn't going to steal their sunshine.
"We're real proud of our kids and everybody else's kids in spite of all the real bad weather and all those other problems we were having, seemed like everyone had a great time," said Morgan.
Drivers rolled in from as far as Clarksville, in northern Georgia and Miami, Florida.
Each car holding it's own design, even one made out of a traffic signal light.
Although the winner had the look, her skills stole the show.
"It feels pretty good, really good. I've been doing this for three years and this is my first win overall," said Katelin Holt.
And hopefully it won't be her last.
Holt made 62 laps around the track in an hour.
The second place winner completed 60.
Morgan says he hopes they can turn race into an annual event.
