Valdosta, Georgia- August 9, 2012
Dozens of Valdosta business owners got locked up Thursday, but it is not what it sounds like.
It was a fundraiser to raise money for the Muscular Dystrophy Association. Local business owners volunteered to get locked up so contributors would have to bail them out.
Jay Thiessen, of the 'Packaging Corp Of America' must have been the biggest offender of the day, because he raised over $5,000.
"This is such a great cause. We felt like we really needed to step up and again the fine folks that I work with really rose to the challenge and helped put a big number up there this year," said Thiessen.
Thiessen's bail was posted by a collection of employees and suppliers combined.
