Cairo High School Principal Dave McCurry says instructors work hard getting their classrooms ready before students ever walk through the door.
He says faculty typically go back to school a week earlier than the kids do, but some work all summer long.
Says McCurry, "Today is the first official day for teachers, but we've had teachers coming in all summer, particularly the new teachers, getting their lesson plans together."
Cairo students start back this Friday, August 5th.
McCurry says he's expecting between 1,100 and 1,200 students in the high school this year.
