Cairo High School officials say 98% of their juniors have passed a state-mandated writing test, which is the highest recording pass rate since the school switched to a new curriculum over ten years ago.
Both students and teachers say they are excited about the high level of achievement for the 11th grade class.
The test was one of a 5-part series the state of Georgia requires students to pass before they can graduate.
Cairo High principal, David McCurry, says while he is proud of the results on this test, teachers are continuing to work with students in other challenging subjects, including math and science.
School faculty say the juniors will complete the other 4 parts of the test at the end of March.
