Investigators say 52-year-old Patricia Sanderson went around to several churches in Atkinson County over the last few weeks telling them her daughter was deathly ill.

Deputies say Sanderson collected a total of one-thousand dollars from the churches.

She faces eight counts of theft by deception and remains in the Houston County jail.
