This week the City of Valdosta, along with other cities across Georgia, will host a variety of events to celebrate the role cities play in the lives of their citizens.
It's all for Georgia Cities Week. On Monday, Valdosta hosted Customer Service Day where residents took the time to explore city information to learn more about the city and what it has to offer. It was held at the Valdosta Customer Service Center where organizers say hundreds of people visit everyday to pay their water bill.
City officials were also there to help answer citizens' questions. Residents said they are happy to see that so much information about Valdosta is easily accessible in one place.
"A lot of the time I don't really know what's going on, I just recently moved here," said Erin Dobbins. "Coming out to have all this information readily available has really been helpful."
On Tuesday, the city will hold a blood drive in observance of Georgia Cities Week.
