Big changes are coming to the City of Valdosta.
The City is expected to announce 15 new appointments at tonight's City Council Meeting.
A couple of weeks ago, the City of Valdosta gave the public "15 Good Reasons to Serve", and at tonight's council meeting, they will announce who answered the call and who will fill the open slots.
The positions are spread out among various boards, commissions, authorities, and advisory committees.
Valdosta's Mayor, John Gayle, says it will be nice to have some new faces in these organizations and hopes they provide new ideas and input.

Valdosta, GA - The City of Valdosta will soon have 15 vacancies on local boards, commissions, and authorities.
Valdosta Mayor, John Gayle, is asking for residents to perform their civic duty by filling these positions. The openings range from the Historic Preservation Commission, to Valdosta Airport Authority, and even keep Lowndes-Valdosta Beautiful. Mayor Gayle says you don't need any previous experience to apply.
"You don't have to have a certain amount of education or a college degree. We're just basically looking for people that are willing to serve and there's no educational requirement. Other than the background check and the code of ethics, and the willingness to serve; that's it."
