Thomasville welcomes a crowd of "cranky" collectors this week (10/24-10/30).

The Antique Automobile Club of America is holding it 'Deep South Reliability Tour' in town this year.

Collectors arrived from all over the U-S on Sunday (10/24) and have been enjoying each other's company, united by their common passion of old cars.

They say even non-collectors can appreciate the 'moving works of art'.

Says one collector from Alabama, Stevie Wyatt:

"The local people come out ... they have a ball coming out and just talking to you ... you get a lot of old timers who come out and they say 'I remember when I had a car like this."

The cars can span all makes and models, but the club's rules say each car must be made in 1915 or earlier.

All of the models are started by a hand crank in the front of the car.

The enthusiasts say though their cars require dedication and a little bit of start-up money, they were built to last for many years to come.
