Colquitt County Man Sentenced to Five Years In Prison

25-year-old Michael Burdette pleaded guilty in November to two counts of vehicular homicide.

The accident took place back in 2008 and claimed the life of three including an eight year old child.

Burdette was driving under the influence when his vehicle hit the victim's vehicle. The accident took place North of Moultrie. Burdette will serve five years in prison and five years probation.

    that is messed up. 5 years. i think god i didn't kill anyone when i dirnked and drove from 80 to 2000 before i quit first dwi in 1982 was $ 200. got off pretty easy compared today. i have met people that tells me that in the days before the law woke up that they had over 150 dwi's. unreal. when i drinked hard liquer for 20 years i thought everyone else was sick not me.

    So this careless drunk killed THREE PEOPLE, ruined their families lives, and only gets five years? Unreal how liberal we are in our sentencing. He should be in prison for LIFE, he blew his chance to live with society, he is a threat to soceity, yet we will let him back out and give him a chance to kill more people. Brilliant!

    death penalty would be the correct sentence.
