Thomasville, GA -- June 12, 2012 --

At least six families are still out of their homes, after flash flooding caused serious damage.

More than two feet of sewage water filled homes last week, destroying most, if not all, of the homeowners' belongings.

Now, local businesses and volunteers are hosting a drive to collect donations for the victims.

"Because of the outpouring of love in this community, and our church friends, and neighbors, we don't feel like we've lost everything, because we still got each other," said flood victim, Jeanette Lasseter.

The marketing director for Camellia Gardens added, "I've seen the way that this community comes together when people are in need and I'm looking forward to seeing what they're going to do for these families who've lost everything."

Harvard Self Storage on Jackson St. has donated space for people to drop off items. Organizers are asking for used furniture, clothing or home appliances.
