Construction begins on a new addition to one South Georgia Science Center.

Crews gated off Valdosta State's Bailey Science Center.

The new 15,000 square foot addition will include two 75 seat laboratories, two classrooms and 20 faculty offices.

The dean says it will benefit students most.

"Students want to make sure they get their degrees in a timely manner. This will help them get the courses they want," said VSU Dean of the College of the Arts and Science Dr. Connie Richards.

The five- million dollar project is expected to be completed by fall 2012.
