Convergys wants to add 100 full-time customer service and sales positions.

The company held a job fair Saturday from 8 am to 4 pm where it attracted people from across the area.

"When they're hiring it's great for me, I got a child on the way and the way jobs are nowadays, it ain't easy to get one, said Cody Armstrong. I'm having to drive forty miles just to find a job."

Covergys says the new employees will work in customer service for one of its client in the cable and satellite industry.

Anonymous, DITTO!! You are correct. I have a friend who worked there and like you say," Convergys treats their employees terrible!" It's better to work for Wal-Mart and that's not saying much. Convergys wants you to sell, sell, sell. One cannot make some one buy anything the person does not want. Also, my friend says workers add things to a persons bill just to sell. That's sad!! Even in today's time there are other places to work.

How would you expect someone to move when they don't have any money? Is this guy suppose to be homeless until he finds a job?Anonymous it is a miracle you have a job because you do not seem very intelligent!

When the "Hiring" sign has grass growing up around it, look out. Just like the car dealerships hiring ads that say.."due to increased sales we are now hiring" Yeah right. The reason they are hiring is that the sales people wised up when they were finally told that they work for free..Yup. Draw vs. commission. The minimum wage they pay you is taken back from your commissions that you earn.. You are NOT paid overtime. The salary they "pay" you is a LOAN. If you work 40 hrs(which you won't, much more, try 60)(remember NO overtime pay, car sales are exempt from overtime pay) at $8.00hr, that's $320.00 If you sold 3 cars at the minimum commission of $100.00 each,($300.00), guess what? You still OWE the company $20.00.

Actually, "ain't" is a word in the dictionary. Now I probably would not use it in a job interview, but cut the poor guy some slack.

You only drive 40 miles because you have chosen not to move. Many people move across the country many hundreds, or thousands of miles to take a job. Maybe you are limiting yourself by only looking within a 40 mile radius of where you live.

Convergys is the spawn of Satan. Mark my words, they will hire the "ain't" guy, that also said "got a child". Convergys treats their employees terrible and the pay is rotten. Then people complain and wonder about the level of customer service they receive.

Ever wonder why these companies are ALWAYS hiring? Well, you will once you start working there. I understand the desperation caused by the recession, but exhaust all options before consigning yourself to the Underworld.

Best of luck to the guy quoted in the article. Just don't say "ain't" when you are speaking with employers.

I hope they hire people who know better than to say "ain't".
