The Boys and Girls Clubs of the Greater Cook County Area expanded its newest facility this week to teens ages 13 to 18.
The center, located at the old Cook County High School, 1200 North Hutchinson Ave., boasts a lounge and game room.
So far, 19 teens have joined the club and officials say they expect another 60 by the summer.
"A nice, comfortable place where progressives are talking about their futures, what they can do on their day-to-day to improve their quality of life," said Ronald Mitchell, the chief volunteer officer, with the organization. "That's what we're shooting for."
The Teen Center was paid for with Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax (SPLOST) funds.
The next phase will be to remodel the football field, gym and theater.
