Criminals Steal Empty Cash Register

A pair of burglars in Valdosta are probably feeling pretty silly after checking out their loot.

The whole act was caught on camera in security footage.
They stole a cash register from "Family Pool and Spa" early Sunday morning.
But the cash register was empty.
Store owner Gene York tells Eyewitness News reporter Greg Gullberg that the real one was next to it under a computer monitor.

"Yeah that was the funny part, we had a dummy cash register that we use to back up our point-of-sale, and they ended up grabbing an empty cash register of all things," says York.

They did however make-off with some premium grade pool cues that the owner says are valued around $2,000 in all.
If you have any information you're urged to call Valdosta Police.
