Valdosta Residents Join Nation In Day Of Prayer

Valdosta residents celebrated the National Day of Prayer outside the Old Court House downtown Thursday.

Hundreds bowed their heads as a succession of speakers stood at the podium and prayed for the community, schools, businesses and government at all levels.

Mayor John Gayle proclaimed Thursday, May 3rd as a day of prayer in Valdosta.

According to their national website, the mission of the National Day of Prayer Task Force is to mobilize prayer in America and to encourage personal repentance and righteousness in the culture.

    If everything is all a part of your god's plan, why pray? Are you going to change his mind about something? This really is a silly thing for grownups to be participating in.
