Thomas County, GA- A tip from a caller about possible drug manufacturing led Thomasville/Thomas County Narcotics Agents to a house along Myrick Road. But when they arrived at the house, they say they could hardly see.

"It was just smoke everywhere," said Kevin Lee, the Thomasville/Thomas County Narcotics and Vice Commander.

Agents say that's when they called Thomas County Fire and Rescue for back up. Crews responded within minutes and had to use a fan to remove the smoke from the home. Agents say the smoke had a strong odor to it; one that's commonly associated with the manufacturing of meth.

"We then went in and drew samples," Lee said. "We found a mason jar full of what we believe to be meth oil. We then found a meth lab underneath the bed. We found a gas generator and it was still putting off heat."

The discoveries didn't stop there.

"We also looked in a chest of drawers and found a hot plate that was on, with a glass dish on top with meth drying out," Lee added.

Josh Witaker ,41, was then arrested and charged with manufacturing methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine, and unlawful possession of ephedrine.

Witaker had been arrested three weeks ago on similar drug-related charges and was out on bond during the time of this arrest.

Agents say this time, the man's bond was denied.
