So far, the Board of Elections says 3,690 people have cast early ballots.
They say turnout is greater this year than it was during the same period for the 2006 General Election.
On the November ticket, are two county commission races, three school board positions and special elections to fill both Valdosta and Remerton City County spots.
Some voters say they're determined to make their voices count.
"It's everybody's civic duty, especially it's my civic duty," said Lowndes County voter Mitch Folsom. "I went and fought in the United States Marine Corp just for this privilege--to be able to get out and have the freedom to have a voice."
Next week, citizens can vote early at the Board of Elections Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
