Around 2AM on April 25th the Grady County Sheriff's Office got a 911 call from Sammy Scarboro. He said that he and his wife Linda, both in their seventies, had been attacked in their own home.
They live at 958 Bryant Road in Cairo, Georgia. Deputies found the couple severely beaten. They were both taken to Tallahassee Memorial Hospital. Linda Scarboro is still at the hospital being treated for her injuries.
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is the lead investigator in the case. Special Agent Steven Turner of the Georgia Bureau of Investigation said "at this time we don't really have a suspect, we don't really have a good description of the individual that participated in the crime."
Robert Pelphrey-White lives just a few minutes from the Scarboro's. He said "I have children and there safety and well fair about all is my highest concern of course. And for my family It's just completely scary now that I've heard about this."
Investigators have not released the extent of the couple's injuries. They also said they do not know if anything was stolen from the house.
