The City of Valdosta hosted the Electronic Recycling event Saturday. Residents turned in old cell phones, monitors and laptops.
Residents say this event helps people to discard old devices and equipment in an environmentally responsible way.
"I really like it because I hate when people just throw stuff on the side of the roads," said Cameron Miller. "So it can be collected somewhere and have better use to it."
The event is held twice a year. The electronics collected are transported to an Atlanta recycling company to be re-used.
