Tallahassee, FL - The Florida Highway Patrol says it will have extra troopers on the road this Independence Day weekend.
They say they'll be looking for impaired and aggressive drivers.
Stephanie Booker says on her drive from Jacksonville, she saw what seemed to be 16 troopers on I-10 in one area. She said they were pulling drivers over two at a time.
Booker says, "They were actually sitting there and it looked like, almost like a police convention. So, it was a little odd to see them because you usually see them straggled out around and about. But, they were all together."
Georgia State Patrol is conducting "Operation Zero Tolerance" this weekend. Troopers will be watching for drunk drivers, seat belt and child restraint violations, and speeders.
GSP says last year, it investigated 1,150 traffic crashes resulting in five fatalities, issued nearly 9,900 citations and made almost 400 DUI arrests.
