Associated Press Release
ATLANTA (AP) -- Atlanta airport officials say the fire department will extinguish a simulated plane fire as part of a disaster preparedness drill.
Officials say fire crews will conduct a simulated fire exercise Tuesday from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at a Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport training facility.
Officials say the exercise may produce clouds of dark smoke near the airport that can be seen from high-rise buildings and the interstate.
Airport officials say the training exercise is part of an annual certification program for airport rescue firefighters.
