Valdosta, GA - Five people in Valdosta escaped a house fire in a case now being called an arson. Investigators say a fire was set in front of every home exit.

Around 3am Wednesday morning someone lit three fires at the front, side and back doors of a home at 1209 Morningside Drive. Five people were in the house at the time including two boys ages twelve and six.

Arthur Fiffie, inside the home: "We got kids living in here just as much as we living in here. The kids room was closest to this fire. Now you think about this, if we hadn't of caught it when we caught it it would have burned up this whole room right here."

Reporter: "And the kids room is...?"

Arthur: "Directly right here behind the AC unit."

Luckily the family had a fire extinguisher in the house and used it to put out the flames. But it could have been much worse.

Lt. Edgar Tooley, Valdosta Fire Department: "if this fire would have actually took off and blocked those doors who is to say that the windows in the house wouldn't have been blocked, these people could have never had an opportunity to get out and could have been overcome by smoke and actually passed away."

Luckily no one was injured in the fire. No arrests have been made. If anyone has any information about who did this contact the Valdosta Fire Department.

"I would like to see who did this brought to justice. I really would."
