An American Flag is now flying at Brooks County High School that is a patriotic symbol for passers-by in more ways than one.

It was a gift to engineering teacher Donald Morgan from his son Kyle. Kyle Morgan has been serving in Afghanistan as a Navy Medic with the U.S. Marine Corps. He brought his dad the flag on a recent trip home.

It was in a zip lock bag. Donald Morgan says when they opened it there was still a lot of Afghan sand to brush out.

"I can get emotional about it real easy. It's just one of those situations that you are proud of your child. You are proud of what he did. We have a lot of students here that are from Brooks County that are deployed or have been deployed and I just want to put it up there and fly it in honor of those kids," Donald Morgan said.

The flag will continue flying at Brooks County High School for several more days before it finds a permanent place in Donald Morgan's classroom.
