On VSU's pedestrian walkway, more than 150 students came together to dance to Lady Gaga's "Bad Romance".
It was part of a sociology assignment that tests four hypotheses on how crowds react to spontaneous events.
The dances only met for one rehearsal before they performed for curious onlookers.
"I did not expect this many people to come watch," said Lacey Harper, a senior at VSU, who choreographed the dance. "It was exciting. As a performer, it's just fun to have people watch you do what you love."
"They will look at all of the film of the crowd and then begin to count and analyze if the hypotheses was correct or not," said Professor Kathleen Lowney, Ph.D.
Over the next several weeks, students will write a paper analyzing which hypotheses best explains the crowds' reaction.
