CANTON, Ga. (AP) -- Cherokee County detectives say they are
seeking help from the public to find a woman who reported being
kidnapped when her car broke down on Interstate 575.
Authorities said in a statement that 44-year-old Lisa Bode of
Ball Ground called 911 around 2 p.m. Monday and told dispatchers
she was put in the trunk of a car and kidnapped. She told police it
happened when her car broke down on I-575 near the Cherokee-Pickens
Bode said she was put in the trunk of a gold car by a man who
then drove off.
Authorities said they found Bode's black Ford Explorer on
southbound I-575, just inside Cherokee County.
