ATLANTA (AP) -- Police in suburban Atlanta say they're searching for the owner of a pit bull whose ears have been cut off and who suffered a large cut or burn on the back of its head.
Gwinnett County police Cpl. Jake Smith says authorities are unsure of where the dog came from and it has been placed in the care of animal control.
Officials say the dog wandered into a CVS store on Lawrenceville Highway in Lilburn on March 6.
Animal Control Investigator Michael Chatham tells WSB-TV that the dog doesn't appear to be aggressive and may have been used in dogfighting.
