Georgia Mother Says Her Daughter is Being Bullied

Decatur, GA (AP) - The mother of an 11-year-old boy who hung
himself last year after reportedly being bullied at a DeKalb County
school says her daughter is being harassed.
Masika Bermudez has filed a report with DeKalb County School
Police and the superintendent's office about a sixth-grade boy she
says is bullying her 12-year-old daughter. Bermudez's son, Jaheem
Herrera, committed suicide over what his mother said was constant
torment by bullies at Dunaire Elementary School in Stone Mountain.
Bermudez says a classmate told her daughter that Jaheem should
have hanged himself "a long time ago" and went to hell for his
DeKalb County spokesman Robert Moseley says the boy was
suspended for the remarks and has since been withdrawn from the
School officials denied bullying led to Jaheem's death and an
independent review found bullying was not a factor.
