Valdosta - August 5, 2011
Technical colleges across the Peach State are switching from quarters to semesters.
This will include all three Wiregrass Georgia campuses.
Officials say it will help transition incoming students.
The change will also make it easier for technical college students to transfer credits to other institutions.
"I think it's gonna be easier," says Krystal Flora, 27, a health information technology major. "I'm for it. It's gonna help me when I go to a four-year college. Everything will look the same when it comes to transfer credits. It'll be a little easier to move things along."
The switch will begin on August 22. This is also the first day of classes.
