Bainbridge, Ga. -- Georgia Gov. Nathan Deal visited Bainbridge State College today to announce the impending opening of Bainbridge Manufacturing, which he says will create 240 jobs and invest more than $100 million in the local economy.
The Governor made the announcement in Bainbridge State's Student Wellness Center gymnasium at 10 a.m. The Governor chose to make this announcement at Bainbridge State to acknowledge the College's role in helping to land the new company as well as the role the four-year institution will play in training up its future workforce. Other groups who played a role in attracting the new industry will also be represented at the announcement, including the City of Bainbridge, the Decatur County Development Authority, the Georgia Department of Economic Development, Decatur County's state legislative delegation and others.
Bainbridge Manufacturing will manufacture heat exchange systems for the aerospace, automotive and HVAC industries. The company, which plans to export products to more than 37 countries from its Bainbridge headquarters, will expand the building formerly occupied by TRACO from the facility's present 180,000 square feet to 1.6 million square feet.
