[UPDATE] 12-31 1:40PM --

MARIETTA, Ga. (AP) --

Law enforcement officers from across the country turned out for the funeral of a Georgia state patrol trooper who was gunned down earlier this week.

The trooper, 38-year-old Chadwick LeCroy, was fatally shot
Monday.

A horse-drawn caisson left a funeral home Friday afternoon for a
service at the Roswell Street Baptist Church in Marietta. Burial is
at Kennesaw Memorial Park Cemetery.

Intersections were closed by rolling roadblocks as the
procession passed.

Prosecutors said Gregory Favors was driving in Atlanta when
LeCroy tried to make a routine traffic stop. Favors fled from the
officer, then crashed his car. Authorities said Favors shot LeCroy
in the neck when the trooper approached the car.

Favors is charged with murder.
