A Williams Family Foundation grant gave kids the opportunity to take free swimming lessons during a two-week long camp.

Directors say the camp usually includes art and dancing, but this year they wanted to add something new.

"It's a life skill to know how to save yourself while you're out in the water. Some children don't get the opportunity to learn how to swim," says Outreach Education Director Mary Oglesby.

Friday is the last day of camp and the kids will do a closing performance at the Cultural Center in Thomasville.

The event starts at two in the afternoon and is free to the public.
