Pre-K and Kindergarten students got a chance to hop in and out of different rides, eat ice cream and sit in the back of an ambulance on a stretcher. School staff said Transportation Day helps students with their career choices.

"I think that children get lots of lifelong lessons through this they get to recognize people in the community for example the fireman," said Hand-in-Hand Teacher Robin Shaver.

Organizers said companies throughout the Thomasville area all pitched in to make the event a success.

Yes sir, another expensive tax payers baby sitting service. How can a 4 year ole make up his mind to be an EMT just becase he sat on a stretcher. Was it soft and that is what he liked? Why not use this tmie and teach the kids to sit down and shut up when they are told to do so. Under Mayhalls leadership kids coming from Hand n Hand can't sit down and shut up.

Hand 'n Hand primary School is just great. They do so much for the children in the community. My grandson attends and is in Mrs. Shavers class. Great school!!!!

Great idea! My son decided at the age of 4, after a field trip, that he wanted to be an "ambliance driver". When choosing a career, there was no doubt....he's now a wonderful paramedic that is living his dream! (And he learned how to say "ambulance" in the meantime!)
