Parents in Valdosta may not have to ask their kids if they have homework anymore. They can check themselves.
Getting started is easy.
All parents have to do is log on to the Valdosta City Schools web site and sign up for I-Parent.
The program has been available for years in Valdosta but only for middle and high school students.
Now, the program has been expanded, allowing parents to see how their children are performing in elementary school too.
"The progress monitoring is probably the biggest piece. They can actually log on, see what homework assignments are out there or see any grading that might be listed for their child," said Valdosta City School Public Information Officer Jennifer Steedley.
Teachers hope this program here will be a great tool in helping parents to stay involved in their child's education.
