IRS Pushes Back Deadline to Help Non-Profits

The IRS is giving non-profits a second chance by extending their filing deadline.

A law passed by Congress in 2007 says that any non-profit failing to file tax work 3 years in a row will lose their status -- regardless of how much money the organization makes.

Many non-profit organizations were unaware of this law--and now the IRS is trying to help.

Officials say the forms are easy to fill out, and churches are generally exempt from filing.

The new deadline is October 15th.
