The jury went into deliberations at 1:45 pm Tuesday after breaking for an hour lunch in the trial of 23-year-old Brandon Henry. Henry is accused of the murder and burglary of 39-year-old John Golden on Monday, August 9th 2010. The trial is expected to wrap up Tuesday afternoon.

Valdosta police arrested Henry about two days after the shooting death of Golden at a residence on Palm Place. Golden was shot 15 times in his torso by an AK-47 assault rifle as he stood on the front porch of his home on Nardo Street cooking food.

Henry faces charges of burglary, malice murder and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime. The incident reportedly happened after a party that had seen several fights.

In his trial in the Lowndes County Superior Court, Henry denied committing the murder, ever holding an AK-47 at anytime in his life, and said he denied using Clorox Bleach to wipe away evidence by saying it was instead to treat a bee sting.

Three different witnesses who did not know each other testified to seeing Henry with a black plastic trash bag. The prosecution says the gun was in that bag.
